My Top 5 Breastfeeding Must-Haves
So, I’ve been breastfeeding for almost 26 months (as of August 2019). That’s a pretty long ass time. That being said, I’ve tried a variety of products and supplies related to breastfeeding, especially in the early days. I’ve discovered things I hated, mediocre products, and things I absolutely couldn’t have survived without. Below are my TOP 5 breastfeeding must-haves that I think you NEED in your life.

1. Spectra S2 Double Breast Pump - https://amzn.to/2NDJGFN
This bad boy was my saving grace in the early days and when I wanted to keep my supply up. I did tons of research on breast pumps, and I’m SO happy I went with the Spectra S2. It’s super quiet, which I loved, and really comfortable. I mean, as comfortable as nipple flanges can be. I experienced ZERO discomfort and no issues with this pump. Also, the storage bottles that come with it are the only bottles Jackson ever took. So, win-win.
2. Lansinoh Breastmilk Storage bags – https://amzn.to/2MHAAIf
These bags are awesome. I can’t say I tried every bag on the market, but I tried a few and these were by far my favorite. They’re a great size and shape and really thick, so tearing of any kind is not likely to happen. I stored my breastmilk in the freezer laying down and these bags were perfect for that. Plus they’re fairly affordable!
3. Motherlove Nipple Salve - https://amzn.to/2MHl1QM
I was literally obsessed with this stuff. I had SEVERE discomfort breastfeeding the first few weeks (as most of us do) and I slathered this cream on my nips after every feed. It was soothing and helped so much when my nipples were feeling dry and/or cracking. It has a Vaseline-like consistency, and I love that it’s non-toxic and safe for baby’s mouth.
4. Nursing Bras - https://amzn.to/34avoC7
There are some pretty cute nursing bras on the market these days. I’ll be honest, these are not them. These are full coverage, stretchy, thick straps, and all things NOT cute. BUT if you’re like me, you’re not worried about cute when it comes to easily accessing your boobs to soothe your screaming baby. These bras are SO comfortable and obviously functional for what they need to do. The clasps work perfectly, they’re great for sleeping and lounging in, but still look just fine underneath clothes. They’re a great value and definitely worth checking out.
5. Lansinoh Nursing Pads - https://amzn.to/2MFG8Dj
I was never on board with reusable nursing pads because, honestly, I’m just too lazy. Disposable all the way for me. These Lansinoh pads are GREAT. They’re thick, but not uncomfortable. Believe it or not, all nursing pads are not created equal. I tried a few that were seriously terrible. Once I experienced these guys, there was no going back. Buy the big pack on Amazon and get more bang for your buck. You won’t be disappointed.
I really do swear by all this stuff, y’all. No joke. These were THE products that eased my breastfeeding woes. I hope you find something from this list that makes YOUR breastfeeding journey a little easier (or at least more comfortable)!
